Pascal Metrics has an immediate opening for a software engineer to join our team at our headquarters in Georgetown, Washington DC. The ideal candidate will have experience developing web applications with open-source software and a passion for writing beautiful code.

We are looking for:

• Self-motivated, prolific software developers able to work effectively in a small team
• Familiarity with principles of Object-Oriented design and development
• Engineers who thrive in a fast-paced environment driven by a competitive startup mentality
• Extensive experience with Java web-applications, J2SE specifications and associated open source frameworks
• In-depth understanding of Hibernate & Spring Framework
• Programmers with pride and interest in their craft beyond the day job

Pluses:

• Experience with Spring Security or Spring Workflow
• Understanding of and ability to practice scalable design
• Appreciation for scrum and similar agile development methodologies
• User Interface and Experience junkies with jQuery or Actionscript expertise

• Exposure to principles of risk management and quantitative analysis
